This week the Queensland Winter Carnival continues with Queensland Oaks Day at Eagle Farm, where a strong black-type program is headlined by one of the state’s premier staying contests for three-year-old fillies.
We’ll be covering Races 3-9, including the feature Queensland Oaks, as the best young staying fillies in the country battle it out over 2200 metres. Supporting the Oaks is a quality card featuring several important carnival races including the G2 Moreton Cup to close out the program.
It shapes as a particularly tricky day from a punting perspective. Many of the races feature deep and even fields, with several runners bringing strong interstate form lines and plenty of chances depending on how the track plays. With few obvious standouts across the program, finding value and identifying the right race setups could be the key to a profitable afternoon.
